Breaking News: Parents Arrested After Altercation With Deputy at Florida Middle School

A school meeting in Deltona turned violent after a confrontation between parents and a school resource deputy at Deltona Middle School.

According to authorities, Jorge Rivera and his wife were at the school to discuss an incident involving their son, who was accused of shoving another student.

During the meeting, tensions escalated between the parents and the school resource deputy.

Investigators say the situation quickly became physical when Rivera’s wife allegedly pushed the deputy against a wall.

Moments later, Rivera is accused of striking the deputy in the head, knocking her to the ground. Authorities say he then took control of the deputy’s taser during the altercation.

The deputy suffered a concussion as a result of the incident.

Both Rivera and his wife were taken into custody at the scene. They are expected to face multiple charges related to the assault of a law enforcement officer.
